Artist of Collage Atelier - Johannes Geppert

I moved to Australia from Hamburg Germany when I was 20 years old and have lived here ever since. Apart from my new hometown, I have lived in Berlin, Montreal and Vancouver over the past years.

My Collage work is in essence inspired by colours and textures found in nature. The ocean, mountains, rivers, rocks, tree bark, earth and clouds to mention a few of my favourite parts. But I also get inspired by weathered urban textures within the city terrain and Im influenced by the ascetics of earthy ceramics and pottery.  

My process is combining reclaimed textiles, vintage paper, reclaimed paper (some of them I paint on) and other weathered and time-worn materials to create my Collages. 

When we think how long humans have lived in nature before we had fast-moving cities & urban communities, I wholeheartedly believe that natural textures and colours have a wholesome and calming effect on the mind, body and soul. So with much love, here they are !
